making art every day…
I’ve recently started drawing everyday on my iPad. In the past, I’ve kept an art journal and painted with traditional mediums (mostly watercolor) in my journals. However, since my goal is to one day write and illustrate children’s books, I thought that drawing and painting digitally might work better for me. However, the jury is still out on this one! :)
Lisa Bardot, the mastermind artist behind some of the best Procreate brushes out there, has a monthly challenge called “Making Art Everyday”. Her challenges are very clever and she has themes each month. In addition, you can watch her draw on her iPad live several times a month on her You Tube Channel, and draw along with her if you’d like. Just watching her draw is a learning experience even if you don’t pick up your Apple Pencil! :)
This month’s challenge for April is Time Travel…
So far this is what I have created for April…
And here are some of my Procreate drawings for March, which was “doodle” month…
It has been so much fun to have a daily practice again! If you want to join me, you don’t need an iPad and you don’t need to join the Art Maker’s Club, simply follow along with Lisa’s prompts for Making Art Everyday. And don’t forget to post them on your social media platform, with the hashtags #makingarteveryday and #bardotbrushes.
Have fun!
