Nan Rowe, Author

My first novel, The Lady in White, a Hope’s Bay Mystery is a paranormal mystery with historical elements. It will be published in Fall of 2024.

My experiences camping in Michigan and discovering the local tale of a young woman’s ghost that roamed the shores of Lake Huron in hopes of finding her true love, a sailor who had died on the Great Lake, compelled me to write The Lady in White. The young woman’s story haunted me much like it haunted my main character, Kate Morgan.

Synopsis

Kate Morgan is the author of wildly successful paranormal mysteries, but unlike her psychic protagonist, Kate keeps her abilities to communicate with the spirit world a secret. Fans of Kate’s books anticipate the next in the series, but she’s completely burned out professionally and emotionally after her husband’s infidelity. Not having written a word in over a year, her readership is failing, and Kate is about to forfeit her writing contract and possibly her career.

Longing to escape, Kate flees to Port Hope, on the windy shores of Lake Huron. There, she is invited to stay in an old lake Captain’s house — the exact house that inspired the Bed and Breakfast in her books. Restless spirits and a century old murder mystery involving a gold treasure threaten to derail her writing and take her life. Kate must now fully embrace her psychic powers to solve a mystery and reunite a ghost couple who have lost their way..

The Lady in White is a paranormal romance with historical elements which highlights the formidable combination of Kate’s persistence to expose the truth and her deft use of the psychic gift she once feared and avoided. Kate learns that true love really does exist outside of the books she writes and discovering a great story and embracing who you are takes courage.
